NEW DELHI: Strong tremors were felt across north India, including Delhi-NCR, as a 5.6 magnitude earthquake shook Nepal on Monday afternoon. This is the second time in 3 days that tremors have been felt in northern parts of India due to a strong earthquake hitting Nepal.
The latest earthquake hit Nepal at 4.14pm around the same location where a magnitude 6.4 earthquake had struck on November 3, killing around 155 people in the Himalayan country.Monday’s earthquake hit at a depth of 10km, according to the National Center for Seismology.

On November 3, a magnitude 6.4 earthquake jolted Nepal sending waves of tremors across north India, including the national capital region. The temblor struck at 11.32 pm forcing people to rush out of their homes.
The earthquake killed around 155 people in Nepal and injured over 250 others.
Nepal lies in one of the most active tectonic zones (seismic zones IV and V) in the world, making the country extremely vulnerable to earthquakes.
