IFFI 2023 to feature Michael Douglas’ masterclass, restored classics screenings and much more | Hindi Movie News – Times of India


American actor and filmmaker Michael Douglas will be the star attraction at 54th IFFI to be held in Goa later this month. Douglas has been awarded the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award and will be present at the ceremony to receive the honour.
He will also be conducting a Master Class sharing his experience of his entire career.
The opening film at the festival will be Catching The Dust directed by Stuart Gatt and closing film will be biographical sports drama The Feather Weight.
Three international restoration and 7 Indian restored films will be screened at IFFI. Vijay Anand’s Guide and Chetan Anand’s Haqeeqat feature on the list. Mrinal Sen’s Marathi film Shyamchi Aai and Biswajeet starrer Bees Saal Baad have also been restored and will be screened.
In the special section of Accessible India-Accessible Films for the visually impaired, films like Shershaah and Sirf Ek Banda Kaafi Hai will have embedded audio description. And for the hearing impaired, Kabir Khan’s 83 and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag will have sign language.
Besides, the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has also announced the selection of 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films for its main component, Indian Panorama. The shortlisted films will be shown during the 54th IFFI, which will be held in Goa from November 20-28.
